This blog was created today, 09/04/2008, as a means of informing interested parties on the progress toward constructing a train viewing platform in Historic Downtown Plant City. The concept for the train viewing platform was approved by the City Commission at their regular meeting on August 25, 2008. In addition to approving the concept, Mayor Rick Lott suggested possible funding sources for the construction of the platform. These funding sources are being evaluated by City Staff at this time.
This blog will serve to detail the progress of the train viewing platform as it moves forward from concept to funded project, and then through it various phases of construction.

I can't wait for this. I'm in the final stages of securing the equipment for the web cam for this platform. By having a live 24hr a day web cam here, it will be a fantastic chance for local businesses to advertise themselves to those who haven't yet made it to Plant City, or for those who want to find out where to stay, where to eat, etc. Thanks so much for all of your efforts on this project, I'm sure I speak for many here.
